I had a new visitor to my bird feeder today. This is the first time I've seen this bird. Not sure what it it. If anyone knows, give a shout.School starts tomorrow. Where did the summer go? Seems like we were just getting ready for summer vacation and now it's over.

back again - I think it might be a Red Cockaded Woodpecker. Go to Ask.com. and search woodpecker and they have tons and tons of pics. Also, this one, if it is the one I think it is the male has a red cap and the female a black cap on the head, and they definitely habitat in your area. I know, I'm weird, but it was fun looking it up. I live in No. California in the Tahoe National Forest and I have birds all over the place and I am always trying to find out what they are.
